Vacuum Tube Solar Water Heater

Video

VACUUM TUBE SOLAR WATER HEATER

This video provides a detailed guide on installing ®SANGSTER solar water heaters, covering both pressurized and non-pressurized systems. Since the video does not contain a spoken transcript, the installation steps are communicated through visual demonstrations and on-screen text:

Preparation and Stand Assembly

  • Component Verification: The process begins by laying out all necessary parts, including the frame components, tank, and vacuum tubes.
  • Frame Construction: The stand is assembled first. For non-pressurized systems, this typically involves a sloped frame designed for roof or flat-surface mounting.
  • Securing the Structure: All bolts and nuts should be tightened to ensure the structure is stable before mounting the tank.

Tank Installation

  • Mounting: The storage tank is placed onto the assembled frame and secured with the provided brackets.
  • Alignment: It is crucial to ensure the holes for the vacuum tubes in the tank align perfectly with the support holes on the bottom of the frame.

Vacuum Tube Assembly

  • Lubrication: Before insertion, the ends of the glass vacuum tubes are often lubricated (using soapy water) to help them slide through the silicone seals in the tank.
  • Insertion: Tubes are inserted into the tank first, then slid back down into the bottom support cups.
  • Caution: Handle the glass tubes with extreme care to avoid breakage and ensure the "getter" (the silvered end) is intact.

Plumbing and Final Setup

  • Connections: The water inlet and outlet pipes are connected. For pressurized models, the pressure-temperature (P/T) relief valve installation is a critical step.
  • Filling the System: The system should be filled with water during a time of low solar radiation (early morning or late evening) to prevent thermal shock to the glass tubes.
